During Jan 20th 2016 sales meeting we did a training session on these 2 tools. Lets be clear they are not the same tool but both have good benefits. A thermal Imaging Camera is a very advanced piece of imaging technology. Basically instead of only capturing images using light it can also produce an image using temperature. Used correctly and you can prove to a customer beyond a shadow of a doubt that their basement is indeed wet. Trevor and Steve both own one and Steve is certified to use one. So if you would like to look into this further and are interested in making the investment to buy this tool please speak with them. This seems to be the best value as far as cost and quality goes.
A thermal Leak Detector is also a great tool and a must have for all System Design Specialists to own. ( We supply them.) This is not a good as a thermal imaging camera obviously but it still has its uses. Want to sell Floor Decking simply drop a sample on the floor and shoot the leak detector at the ground and you will be able to show the temp difference right away. Same Goes with header space. This should come out of your tool box as often as you can.
That should get you started at become expert! But remember our goal is to sell full perimeter interior drainage system no matter the situation. No customer would ever be wasting there money if they invested in waterguard even if their basement wasn't leaking yet!

I will say for certain that I have converted many partial perimeters in to full ones with my camera.
